The president and founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, shared the reasons for integrating the services of Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram. In his opinion, the plan will bring benefits to users.
“In my opinion, the integration of these three services provides a better opportunity, and we want users to feel more secure when accessing these three services,” said Mark Zuckerberg on Friday (01/20/2014) of The Guardian.
Mark Zuckerberg added that the union of the three services was implemented in 2020. He stated that the plan facilitated communication among users. But do not imagine that WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram services are offered on one platform.
However, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger are three different applications and have their own functions. Mark Zuckerberg emphasized that this integration would provide multi-layered security. It is claimed that this unification of services can create interesting experiences like iMessage.
In summary, WhatsApp users can exchange messages with Instagram users after integration, and vice versa. Facebook users can also send messages to people who only have WhatsApp. The sent message is secure because it is encrypted.
During this time, the company used an end-to-end encryption system from Mark Zuckerberg. This system protects the messages so that people who are not involved in the conversation can not read. The news of this integration plan was published for the first time by The New York Times.
